Urban Ventures, LLC is a real estate development company specializing in loft and condominium housing, mixed-use, and the renovating of historic properties in Denver’s urban neighborhoods. 

Susan Powers, who is the former director of the Denver Urban Renewal Authority (1987 – 1998), and five partners, several of whom are well known in the Denver development community, formed Urban Ventures in 1998.

Susan and the partners have been active in the renovation of downtown properties since the early 1980’s.  Previous activities include involvement with: The Denver Pavilions (a 350,000 sq. ft, retail center), The Denver Dry Lofts (formerly a 300,000 sq. ft. department store), Mercantile Square, Elitch Gardens Amusement Park, Silver Square (previously a five building warehouse complex), and The Studebaker Building (mixed-use and residential components).

Urban Ventures has completed the Highland Terrace Lofts, a 56 unit condominium project in the Highland neighborhood, the first three phases (113 units) of Fire Clay Lofts, a four phase, 164-unit development in the Upper Larimer neighborhood adjacent Coors Field, Monarch Mills a 69 unit mid-rise building in the Central Platte Valley of Downtown Denver.  Monarch Mills includes 56 affordable units and 13 market rate units which share the site with 13 high end town homes and the Museum of Contemporary Art / Denver.  Currently Urban Ventures is completing Campus Village Apartments of Auraria, a 685 bed student housing project.  Campus Village Apartments is the first student housing project to be built on the Auraria Campus.  This development will open in August 2006.
